Basic Security In The Field (BSITF) contains vital security information for personnel, family members and others covered by the UN Security Management System (UNSMS). BSITF is mandatory for all individuals covered by the UN Security Management System, regardless of grade or function.

Course Structure
- Go through course material
This course is composed of 7 modules, each taking approximately 10-20 minutes to view. You can access them in any order. - Pass all assessments
With the exception of Module 1 (which does not have an assessment), you must pass each assessment with a score of 80% or better to obtain the certificate. You can take them in any order. Each assessment should take from 1-5 minutes to complete. - Obtain and save your certificate
Upon passing all assessments, your certificate will be available. Please save it for your records.
Renewing Your Certificate
Is your certificate expiring? BSITF certificate is valid for 3 years upon the issue date. Please follow the steps below to renew it.
- Self-Enroll in the course again
Click on the button below to enroll yourself, again. - Complete the course as usual
Follow the procedures as outlined in the Course Structure, above. Upon passing the assessment for all modules, a new certificate will appear below. Important: Please open the certificate and verify that the date has been updated.
